Galaga is an arcade game developed by Namco and released in 1981. It is a sequel to the 1979 game Galaxian which was a major success. In Galaga, players take control of a spacecraft and must battle against swarms of alien enemies. The aim of the game is to survive as long as possible and to shoot down as many of the alien invaders as possible. The game has a classic 8-bit aesthetic and is remembered fondly by many old-school gamers.

The game starts with a formation of alien ships at the top of the screen. The player controls their spacecraft at the bottom of the screen and must shoot down the alien ships. The player can move their ship left and right to avoid the enemy shots and can shoot back by pressing the fire button. The game has several levels and the aliens become increasingly difficult as the game progresses.
